JACKSONVILLE – Defense remained the focus as Saturday continued.
The Jaguars late Saturday also continued focusing on a defensive backfield that many considered a pre-draft need.
Rayuan Lane III, a safety from Navy, on Saturday was selected by the Jaguars No. 200 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft – the 24th selection of Round 6.
Lane (5-feet-11, 200 pounds), a four-year starter at Navy, registered 244 career tackles with nine tackles for loss. He had seven career interceptions, including a career-high four as a junior.
He also had 21 passes defensed and eight forced fumbles in four seasons.
Lane III became the first player from Navy selected by the Jaguars in the NFL Draft.

The Jaguars on Friday selected: Tulane defensive back Caleb Ransaw No. 88 overall (Round 3) and West Virginia offensive lineman Wyatt Milum No. 89 overall (Round 3). They did not have a second-round selection, having traded that to the Cleveland Browns as part of a deal to move up to No. 2 from No. 5 overall to select Hunter.
