JACKSONVILLE – Another day, another honor for the improving Jaguars.
Jaguars inside linebacker Devin Lloyd has been named the Defensive Rookie of the Month for September. The NFL announced the award Thursday morning on Good Morning Football a day after second-year quarterback Trevor Lawrence was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Lloyd, the No. 27 overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft who played collegiately at Utah, has two interceptions and six passes defensed in the last two games – a 24-0 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Jacksonville Week 2 and a 38-10 road victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3 this past Sunday.
Lloyd through three games leads all NFL rookies with 24 tackles and is the only rookie in the league with at least two interceptions and 15 tackles. His total of six passes defensed is tied for first among all NFL players and leads all NFL rookies.
