In honor of Women's History Month the Jacksonville Jaguars asked five questions to women employees who are actively transforming and paving the way for women working in sports and entertainment. Currently, the Jaguars have over 100 women on staff across the Jacksonville Jaguars and Bold Events organizations. Stay tuned for all our features throughout the entire month of March.
What is your advice to younger women interested in working in sports?
- Be versatile & flexible. Get experience in as many different areas as you can & say yes to every opportunity that comes your way. You never know what you say yes to will teach you & how it will help you in the future. Additionally, be open to wherever your profession takes you no matter the city, sport, team, etc. because you can't predict how it might impact your career!
Describe a favorite memory or experience you have had while working with the Jaguars.
- My favorite memory I've had working with the Jaguars has to be winning the Wild Card game against the Chargers. The energy & excitement at The Bank that night was unreal! The celebration in the stands with my dad & friends, then in the office after are memories I'll have forever!
Who is someone that has helped get you to the position or shaped you into the person you are today?
- My mom has always been my #1 supporter & encouraged me endlessly in pursuing my passions. From a young age, she took me to all kinds of live events that created my love for the industry. She also was a woman in sports in the golf industry & has always been a role model for me professionally. I wouldn't be who or where I am today without her!
What was your journey in getting to your role?
- At the University of Virginia (Go Hoos!) I worked in various positions within different Athletics departments throughout my 4 years, including Game Day Marketing/Events, Production & Social Media. The variety of experiences I had taught me so much about every different position that contributes to sporting events & further developed my passion for working in live events! In March 2022, I applied to the Marketing Intern, Concerts & Events position with the Jaguars & Bold Events and have now been on the team as a coordinator for a year & a half.
- I have also had the opportunity to be a Communications Lead with the Women's Employee Resource Group (DTWD – Dedicated to Women's Development) at the Jaguars. Being part of this supportive community of women in sports has been a highlight of my time here in Jacksonville!
In one word, describe being a women in sports.
- Empowerment.
