JACKSONVILLE – They're elite, plain and simple.
Calais Campbell and Jalen Ramsey proved that beyond a shred of a doubt last season, and the Jaguars' defenders have been honored as such yet again.
Campbell and Ramsey, each of whom was named to the Pro Bowl and each of whom was named first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press last season, added to their list of honors on Monday by being among the Top 20 players in the NFL Network's 2018 Top 100.
Campbell was revealed on Monday at No. 14 on the list; Ramsey was revealed at No. 17.
Campbell, a defensive end who signed with the Jaguars as an unrestricted free agent from the Arizona Cardinals last offseason, was named to the Pro Bowl for the third time in his career last season. He also was the runner-up for AP Defensive Player of the Year honors.
He registered a franchise-record and career-high 14.5 sacks, also registering 30 quarterback pressures, 14 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and three passes defensed with a fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown. He was second-team AP All-Pro as a defensive tackle and also was the Sporting News and Pro Football Writers Association Defensive Player of the Year.
Ramsey, the No. 5 overall selection by the Jaguars in the 2016 NFL Draft, registered four interceptions and 17 passes defensed last season. He was an All-Pro selection by PFWA and the Sporting News.
Campbell and Ramsey became the fifth and sixth Jaguars players, respectively, named to the 2018 Top 100. Cornerback A.J. Bouye was named to the list at No 35, running back Leonard Fournette was named to at No. 58, linebacker Telvin Smith was named at No. 67 and defensive end Yannick Ngakoue was named at No. 88.
