MJD ends season in style
Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew closed out the 2011 regular season in style on Sunday, finishing with a season-high 169 rushing yards on 25 carries (6.8 avg.) with a long of 56. Jones-Drew set the club's single-season franchise record for rushing yards and yards from scrimmage while most likely winning the NFL's rushing title in the process. The 169 yards were the third-most of his career.
Jones-Drew recorded his 25th career 100-yard rushing game, the second-most in team history, and his sixth in 2011. The six 100-yard rushing games are the second-most of his career (7, 2010). He finished the season with 100-plus rushing yards in three straight games.

Jones-Drew has sizeable lead heading into final NFL games
With seven NFL games remaining today, Maurice Jones-Drew leads the NFL with 1,606 yards on 343 carries (4.7 avg.). Ray Rice would need to run for 434 yards against Cincinnati to surpass Jones-Drew. In the previous 16 seasons, the Jaguars have never had a player finish in the top three in the NFL in rushing yards. Jones-Drew will join Mark Brunell (4,367 passing yards, 1996) and Jimmy Smith (116 receptions, 1999) as the only players in franchise history to lead the NFL in one of the main statistical categories.
