JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars are nearly halfway there.
Jay Tufele, a defensive tackle selected by the Jaguars in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, signed his rookie contract Friday morning. He became the fourth of the Jaguars' 2021 draft selections to sign with the team.
Tufele, who played at Southern California, was the No. 106 overall selection.
Tufele (6-feet-3, 305 pounds), who played two collegiate seasons after redshirting as a freshman, opted out of the 2020 season. He appeared in 12 games in 2018 and started 13 as a redshirt sophomore in 2019. He finished his career with 65 tackles, including 11 for loss, and had 6.5 career sacks.
The Jaguars currently have five '21 draft selections unsigned: Quarterback Trevor Lawrence (Round 1, No. 1 overall, Clemson), running back Travis Etienne Jr. (Round 1, No. 25, Clemson), cornerback Tyson Campbell (Round 2, No. 33 overall, Georgia), offensive tackle Walker Little (Round 2, No. 45 overall, Stanford) and safety Andre Cisco (Round 3, No. 65 overall).
The Jaguars signed wide receiver Jalen Camp (Round 6, No. 209, Georgia Tech) on Monday, defensive end Jordan Smith (Round 4, No. 121, Alabama-Birmingham) on Tuesday and tight end Luke Farrell (Round 5, No. 145, Ohio State) on Thursday.
