JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars added youth to their receiving corps Thursday.
They added depth and potential, too, signing rookie free agent Marcus Simms from the West Virginia University.
Simms, who went unselected in Wednesday's 2019 supplemental draft, signed with the Jaguars on Thursday morning as an undrafted rookie free agent. Duration and terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Jaguars waived/injured rookie free agent Dredrick Snelson.
Simms (6-feet-0, 195 pounds) caught 46 passes for 699 yards and two touchdowns in 2018, leading the Mountaineers with six punt returns for 58 yards and 10 kickoff returns for 176 yards. He played 33 games at West Virginia, catching 87 passes for 1,457 yards and eight touchdowns.
