JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars addressed special teams early Wednesday.
Caleb Johnson, a linebacker and one of the team's top special teams players, re-signed with the Jaguars Wednesday. He had been scheduled to become a restricted free agent at the start of the 2024 NFL League Year Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Johnson, who played collegiately at Houston Baptist, originally signed with the Chicago Bears as a collegiate free agent after the 2021 NFL Draft. The Jaguars claimed him off waivers on September 1, 2022.
He registered 12 special teams tackles with a forced fumble in 2022 and five special teams tackles in 2023.
