JACKSONVILLE – The rookie class became more official on Friday.

The Jaguars, late Friday afternoon, took one more step toward signing their entire 2018 rookie class when second-round wide receiver D.J. Chark Jr. officially signed his rookie contract.

"I've been waiting on this a long time," Chark Jr. said. "I'm finally official. I'm an official Jaguars player. I'm just excited."

Chark Jr., a wide receiver from Louisiana State University, signed after the third 2018 Organized Team Activities practice at the Dream Finders Home Practice Complex. All NFL rookie contracts are for four seasons; terms of the deal were not disclosed

"It's amazing," Chark Jr. said. "I'm here, and I'm on the team. I've been having a great week of OTAs. I've been joining the players and now I feel like I'm finally one of them because I put my name to paper."

Chark Jr. (6-feet-4, 198 pounds), the No. 61 overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, caught 76 passes for 1,340 yards and six touchdowns in his career at LSU, catching 40 passes for 874 yards and three touchdowns as a senior this past season. He also ran a 4.34-second 40-yard dash at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine.

"I've been in the playbook; coaches have been helping me out a lot," Chark Jr. said of this week's OTAs. "I've been learning every position and the guys on the team have been helping me. I've been getting good insight from those guys. They've been bringing me along and I feel like I'm part of the family here."

The Jaguars now have six '18 selections under contract: Chark Jr., third-round safety Ronnie Harrison (Alabaa), fourth-round offensive tackle Will Richardson (North Carolina State), sixth-round quarterback Tanner Lee (Nebraska), seventh-round linebacker Leon Jacobs (Wisconsin) and seventh-round punter Logan Cooke (Mississippi State).

First-round defensive tackle Taven Bryan (Florida) remains unsigned.
