JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to terms with Grant Udinski to become the team's offensive coordinator, the team announced today.
"Grant will bring a wealth of knowledge, energy and a winning mindset to help lead our offense here in Jacksonville," said Head Coach Liam Coen. "He is a rising star in this league that has been a pillar of success for the Vikings organization and we can't wait to have him lead our offense."
2025 will be Udinksi's sixth season coaching in the NFL, his first as an offensive coordinator. He most recently served as assistant offensive coordinator/assistant quarterbacks coach for the Minnesota Vikings, his third season with the team. During the 2024 season, the Vikings offense finished in the top 10 in multiple categories including sixth in passing yards per game (237.8), fifth in passing yards per attempt (7.99) and ninth in points per game (25.4). Minnesota was 9-1 in one-possession games in 2024, the second-best mark league-wide.
QB Sam Darnold became the first QB in NFL history to record 14 wins in his first season with a team. He also became the winningest QB in a single season in Vikings history. Darnold finished tied for the second-most games with a 100.0-plus passer rating in a season in NFL history with 13, matching the season totals of Aaron Rodgers in 2011, Patrick Mahomes in 2018 and Lamar Jackson in 2024 (min. 20 attempts). He led the NFL in completions of 20-plus yards with 62 and completions of 25-plus yards, recording 41.
Udinski also served as assistant quarterbacks coach in 2023 and previously served as the assistant to the head coach/special projects in 2022. In his first season as assistant quarterbacks coach, he helped navigate the 2023 season with four different starting quarterbacks, the most in franchise history, due to a season-ending injury to QB Kirk Cousins in Week 8. In addition to Cousins, Udinski assisted in preparing rookie Jaren Hall, Joshua Dobbs and Nick Mullens, who each started multiple games for the Vikings throughout the season. Minnesota won three consecutive games with a different starting quarterback in Weeks 8-10 (Cousins, Hall and Dobbs) and finished the season fifth in the league in passing yards per game (256.4). Prior to joining the Vikings staff, he was a coaching assistant for the Carolina Panthers from 2020-21.
Udinski entered the NFL coaching ranks with the Panthers after spending the 2019 season at Baylor as a graduate assistant. Prior to becoming a coach, Udinski played defensive end at Towson from 2016-18. He played in all 12 games in 2018, finishing the season with 28 total tackles, 4.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. The Doylestown, Pa., native played one season at Davidson College as a tight end before transferring to Towson in 2016.
