JACKSONVILLE – Trevor Lawrence is out for Sunday.
Lawrence, the Jaguars' starting quarterback in 59 of his first 60 regular-season career games, officially has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings at EverBank Stadium. He had been listed as questionable on Friday's final injury report of the week.
Mac Jones will start in place of Lawrence, who practiced limited all week with a left-shoulder injury sustained in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday.
Jones, the New England Patriots' starting quarterback from 2021-2023, was acquired by the Jaguars in a trade this past offseason.
The Jaguars deactivated Lawrence and four other players 90 minutes before kickoff Sunday. ❌ The Jaguars' other inactives: Rookie defensive end Myles Cole, rookie defensive tackle Maason Smith (ankle), left guard Ezra Cleveland (ankle) and defensive tackle Esezi Otomewo.
The following players listed as questionable Friday will be available to play for the Jaguars: Wide receiver Gabe Davis (shoulder), running back D'Ernest Johnson (hamstring), rookie wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (chest), safety Daniel Thomas (hamstring), wide receiver/returner Devin Duvernay (hamstring) and safety Andrew Wingard (hamstring).
