JACKSONVILLE – Trevor Lawrence's season is over.
Lawrence, the Jaguars' starting quarterback, on Wednesday was placed on injured reserve three days after sustaining a concussion in a loss to the Houston Texans.
Lawrence sustained the concussion when he was hit with a forearm to the helmet by Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair while sliding at the end of a six-yard run in the second quarter. Al-Shaair received a three-game NFL suspension without pay for the hit.
Lawrence started 10 games this season, missing the last two games before this past week's Texans game with a left – non-throwing – shoulder injury. He threw 11 touchdown passes with seven interceptions this season.
