JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars today announced plans for the first-ever JAX Games Tailgate Party on Sunday, Dec. 20 prior to kickoff of the final regular season home game against the Atlanta Falcons. World No. 1 BMX rider Jamie Bestwick and 23-time X Games skateboarding medalist Andy Macdonald will take to the authentic X Games ramp for a pregame show in the PRI Productions Jaguars Fan Entertainment Zone. They'll be followed by British band The Struts with a live performance of their chart-climbing new single "Could Have Been Me," in association with the 2016 Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville festival.
Entry to the tailgate is free with any ticket to the game. Pregame festivities will begin at 10 a.m. and kickoff is set for 1 p.m. In addition to the live demonstration and concert, skateboarding professionals from Jacksonville-based company Instaramp will be on hand with a mobile half-pipe to give Jaguars fans a chance to test their own skills. Kids can learn the basics with an interactive kids skate demo.
"We're closing the home portion of our schedule with a bang for our fans, bringing in two X Games legends in Jamie Bestwick and Andy Macdonald," said Vice President of Marketing and Digital Media Steven Ziff. "And I know our UK fans will be happy to share their hometown favorites The Struts with Jaguars fans here on the First Coast. This pregame tailgate party will be a must-see spectacle for all Jaguars fans at EverBank Field on Dec. 20."
Other X Games stars will also be performing, including 13 time X Games medalist Simon Tabron, reigning X Games Silver Medalist Paul-Luc Ronchetti, and next generation stars Marcelo Bastos and Mykel Larrin. All game attendees are invited to the JAX Games Tailgate Party. Game tickets begin at $45 and are available online at Jaguars.com/jaxgames.
