The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed second-year wide receiver Tommy Streeterto the 53-man roster from the practice squad and waived wide receiverMike Brown, the club announced.
Brown played in 18 games with eight starts for the Jaguars since joining the club as a rookie free agent in 2012. He played in five games this season and has been declared inactive the last six games.
Streeter, 6-5, 215, has spent the last two months on the Jaguars practice squad after being signed on Sept. 29. He was a sixth-round draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2012 and missed his entire rookie season with a foot injury. Streeter spent time on the practice squad with Buffalo and Tampa Bay in 2013 and was waived on final cuts in 2014 by the Buccaneers. He began the regular season on Miami's practice squad before he was waived on Sept. 23.
The Miami native played in 30 games at Miami and produced 52 receptions for 967 yards and nine touchdowns. He earned second-team All-ACC honors by The NFL Draft Report following his junior season where he led the team with 46 catches for 811 yards. Streeter played in eight games with two starts as a sophomore and had one reception for 42 yards. He prepped at Northwestern High School in Miami where he earned PrepStar All-America honors after making 36 catches for 676 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior.
Streeter will wear jersey number 13.
