The Jacksonville Jaguars signed unrestricted free agent punter Matt Turk and waived rookie linebacker JoJo Dickson, the club announced this morning.  Turk is the sixth unrestricted free agent the Jaguars have signed this week.

Turk, who is entering his 16thNFL season, has played in 235 games since entering the league as a rookie free agent in 1993.  He has punted 1,100 times for 46,659 yards with a 42.4-yard average and 37.5 net.  Only 428 of his 1,100 career punts have been returned (38.9 pct.) and had only three punts blocked in his career.

The 43-year old Turk spent the past four seasons with the Houston Texans where he punted 63 times for a 42.1-yard gross average (36.8 net) in 2010.  He had 19 punts downed inside the 20-yard line.  He has also spent time with Washington, Miami, the New York Jets and St. Louis.  He is a native of Greenfield, Wisconsin.

The Jaguars return to the Florida Blue Health & Wellness Practice Fields this morning for a walkthrough at 10:45 a.m.  The team will practice in full pads tonight beginning at 7 p.m.  Both practices are open to the public with free admission and free parking.
