JACKSONVILLE – Jaguars 2024 Training Camp continued Saturday.
It was the ninth day of the third training camp under Head Coach Doug Pederson, featuring a padded, live-contact practice at the Miller Electric Center. Each day throughout camp, members of Jaguars Media – senior writer John Oehser, senior correspondent Brian Sexton, senior reporter/editor J.P. Shadrick and team reporter Kainani Stevens – will share an observation.
Here are Saturday's campservations:

Saturday was a hot, tough day. That much was true of Day 9 of Jaguars 2024 Training Camp – even if defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen insisted during his pre-practice media availability that "there are no dog days." But even on this difficult morning, two areas that were strong throughout this past week – quarterback Trevor Lawrence and kicker Cam Little – continued to impress. Lawrence, who has not thrown an interception in five practice days this week, had a solid day capped by a touchdown pass in team work to wide receiver Christian Kirk. Little also turned in yet another strong day, converting seven of eight field goals and continuing to routinely convert 50-yard-plus field goals with comfortable distance. It's hard to analyze a rookie kicker until he performs under pressure. But early indications are that Little could be the strongest kicker for the Jaguars since former kicker Josh Lambo's best, most-consistent stretches late last decade.

Today felt like the Saturday before the first preseason game. That's the point in camp when you feel it's gaining momentum and nearing an end – but in reality, it's still a week away from any sort of change in the rhythm and routine. It's the kind of day, especially in the stadium with the Florida sun beating down relentlessly, that you need a measure of mental toughness to push through – and these Jaguars did that Saturday. There were some dropped passes and missed assignments, but overall it felt like a team putting in the work required to get where it wanted to go and not simply to get through the day. The only other thing that stood out to me Saturday: a fairly lengthy injury list. But that, too, is not uncommon for this point in training camp.

Head Coach Doug Pederson moved practice inside EverBank Stadium Saturday, opening the stadium to fans who battled the Florida sunshine and heat for about two hours. The team worked different 11-on-11 and seven-on-seven scenarios, and wore special military-inspired uniforms that the players gave to military members on the field after practice. Nielsen claimed to not recognize the "dog days" of training camp; however, I respectfully disagree, especially in the coming week. This is when the practices will get long, and the team will likely be ready to play somebody in other colors, something it will finally do Saturday.

Saturday's practice in EverBank Stadium featured a good overall day for the defense and a few bright spots on offense. Defensive lineman DaVon Hamilton is a wrecking ball so far in training camp. He looks light years away from what we saw from him last season and back to form of two years ago. Undrafted free agent running back Jalen Jackson continues having a good camp and broke free for a few runs during team drills Saturday. Little continues to impress from long distance. He completed a 57-yard and a semi-dramatic 51-yarder to end practice. Pederson called time out right before the kick and turned up the music and crowd noise to put some pressure on Little, but the rookie delivered.
