JACKSONVLLE – The NFL's 2015 regular-season schedule is still unknown.
But the Jaguars' 2015 preseason schedule – a framework of it, anyway – has been announced, with the NFL on Thursday afternoon releasing opponents and a general time frame for the coming season's preseason games.
For the Jaguars, a major part of that framework is a nationally-televised home game.
The Jaguars will play the Detroit Lions at EverBank Field in a nationally televised CBS game in Week 3 of the 2015 preseason. That game will be played Friday, August 28 at 8 p.m.
The Jaguars will open the preseason at home against Pittsburgh, and the preseason schedule also features games at the New York Giants and Washington Redskins. Specific dates and times for preseason games not televised nationally will be announced at a later date.
The Jaguars sites, opponents and weeks are as follows:
*Week 1: Pittsburgh (week of August 13-17).
*Week 2: at New York Giants (week August 20-24).
*Week 3: Detroit (Friday, August 28 at 8 p.m. on CBS).
*Week 4: at Washington (September 3).
The league typically releases the regular-season schedule in mid-to-late April before the NFL Draft. The Jaguars will play the Buffalo Bills at Wembley Stadium in London on October 25.
