*The Jacksonville Jaguars today claimed first-year tight end Brett Brackett off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles and tight end Zach Miller was waived/injured. The Jaguars also signed eight players to their practice squad Seven of the eight players signed to the practice squad today had been with the team through the preseason and were waived on final cuts on Friday. *
Brackett, 6-5, 246, spent a week on the Jaguars practice squad in 2011 before being waived on Oct. 11. He was originally signed as a rookie free agent by Miami in 2011 and spent two days on the club's practice squad. He was signed by Philadelphia on Jan. 2 and waived on final cuts yesterday.

A four-year letterman at Penn State, Brackett finished his college career with 56 receptions for 714 yards and seven touchdowns. As a senior, Brackett started 11 games and made 39 catches for 525 yards and five touchdowns. He graduated with a degree in marketing and economics.
A native of Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Brackett played football, basketball and baseball at Lawrence High. He started his last three seasons at quarterback and threw for 3,847 yards and 46 touchdowns.

The Jaguars signed former Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson to the practice squad. Wilson was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by Atlanta in 2009 and spent the last three seasons with the club. He was waived on August 26, 2012.
