In addition, safety Michael Desormeaux was waived from the practice squad and replaced by first-year linebacker Justin Roland.

Greene, 6-0, 212, was a seventh-round pick of Seattle in this year's draft, the 247th selection overall, and was waived on September 5. He was a four-year starter at Rutgers, playing both the free and strong safety spots. A native of New Rochelle, New York, Greene spent the 2004 season at Bridgton Academy in Maine. Green, 22, attended New Rochelle High School where he lettered in football and track and was a teammate of Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice.

Middleton, 23, was a fifth-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in this year's draft, the 138th selection overall. He was waived on September 5 and claimed off waivers by Tampa Bay before being waived on September 10. He was re-signed to the Falcons practice squad on September 16.

Middleton, 5-11, 194, was a three-year starter at Furman where he totaled seven interceptions and 186 tackles. He earned first-team honors on two playoff-division All-America squads as a senior after totaling 95 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, five sacks and four interceptions. A native of Marist, Georgia, Middleton attended Marist High School where he posted 10 interceptions along with two kickoff returns for touchdowns. He was a two-time Marist Defensive Player of the Year selection.

Roland, 5-11, 242, was originally signed as a rookie free agent by Philadelphia in 2008. He spent time on the practice squads of Houston and San Francisco in 2008 and the 2009 preseason with the 49ers before he was waived on September 5. He was a two-year letterman at Kansas State after transferring from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.
