The Jacksonville Jaguars today announced a five year partnership with Publix whereby Publix becomes the 'Official Supermarket of the Jaguars.' Publix joins the Jaguars "Jamboree," the most significant corporate partners of the team.
To kick off the partnership, Jaguars and Publix executives made a joint announcement this morning at EverBank Field prior to the team's second day of training camp. Joining the announcement were Jaguars General Manager David Caldwell and Head Coach Gus Bradley. Following the team's practice, the first 750 fans in attendance received an invitation for a complimentary tailgate party hosted by Publix.
The centerpiece of the partnership will be a tailgating platform in which Jaguars fans will have the opportunity to participate in tailgating experiences at Jaguars games and in-store promotions at Publix. The partnership includes presenting sponsorship of the Jaguars pregame radio show on WOKV radio, the *Publix Tailgate Show, *in which lucky tailgating fans will win Publix gift cards and Jaguars merchandise. Jaguars fans will also have the opportunity to be recognized as the "Tailgater of the Game" during the game and participate in on-field contests during TV timeouts. Other sponsorship elements include weekly tailgating recipes on Jaguars.com, signage inside and outside of EverBank Field, and player and cheerleader appearances during the season at various Publix locations. Further, the Jaguars, Publix and other key partners will team up to tackle hunger during the holiday season.
"We are thrilled to have Publix join the Jaguars family," said Jaguars Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships Scott Massey. "Publix is a great brand and a highly respected part of our community. Jaguars fans will feel like they're 'home' when shopping at Publix during the season, as Publix is known for its terrific in-store activation. Tailgating is synonymous with football and we look forward to working with Publix to provide fun and memorable experiences to Jaguars fans each year."
"We are equally excited about this new partnership and venture," said Publix Super Markets Jacksonville Division Vice President Scott Brubaker. "The Jacksonville Jaguars are iconic, have a great reputation and a loyal fan base in the wonderful Jacksonville community and across the nation. We are eager to forge a meaningful and beneficial working relationship with the Jaguars organization and partner in worthwhile community efforts."
