The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed linebacker and special teams standout Brian Iwuh to a contract extension. Iwuh, a restricted free agent, has played in 43 games since joining the club as a rookie free agent in 2006.

Iwuh, 6-0, 235, played in 15 games in 2008 and ranked fourth on the team with 12 special teams tackles. In 2007, Iwuh saw action in all 16 games with one start and ranked second on the team with a career-high 22 special teams tackles and one fumble recovery. He added a career-high 17 tackles on defense along with one forced fumble. As a rookie, he had seven tackles in a reserve role on defense and 10 special teams tackles.

A native of Houston, Iwuh was a two-year starter at Colorado and finished with 23 sacks and five interceptions. He spent the first two weeks of his rookie season on the Jaguars practice squad before being promoted to the active roster.
