JACKSONVILE – Maurice Jones-Drew remains wait-and-see.
And to hear Jaguars Gus Bradley tell it, that could be the case at least until Friday.
Jones-Drew, the Jaguars' running back who missed last Sunday's loss to Buffalo with a hamstring injury, did not practice Wednesday, and Bradley said he and safety Johnathan Cyprien may not work until Friday.
Cyprien (thigh) also missed last Sunday's game. Bradley was asked Wednesday if he was more confident either Cyprien or Jones-Drew would play in Sunday's 2013 regular-season home finale than he was last week.
"A little bit better – not strong yet," Bradley said Wednesday as the Jaguars (4-10) prepared to play the Tennessee Titans (5-9) at EverBank Field Sunday at 1 p.m.
"Mojo and Cyp are in the same type of predicament; we'll wait and see Friday to see how far they've come along. Both are in good spirits. You can tell they're going the right direction, but just how fast we don't know yet."
Jones-Drew, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, sustained his injury late in a December 5 victory over Houston and did not practice as the Jaguars prepared to play the Bills last week.
"I'm doing better," Jones-Drew said. "The circumstance of last week, it rained a little bit, I think that's kind of what held us back. The plan is to keep going forward. I'm feeling better than I did last week. So I'll get out there and run around and see how things go this week and see if I can get out there on Sunday."
Jones-Drew is in the final year of his contract, which means Sunday could be his last game at EverBank Field.
"You never know," he said. "You just want to go out there and put your best foot forward, you want to go out there and show your best."
Jones-Drew added, "We decided early in the year that we're not going to talk until the end of year and that's what is going to happen. So right now I'm going to do whatever I can to get myself ready and back on the field, and get out there and see if I can drag this leg around for Meester and the team and try to end this thing on the right note."
Brad Meester, the Jaguars' 14-year veteran center, announced on Wednesday he will retire following the regular season.
