INDIANAPOLIS – Geno Hayes indeed is moving sides.
As expected, the Jaguars' veteran outside linebacker will make his first start at a new position on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
Hayes, a starter at weak-side linebacker in his first season and a half with the team, will start at the Otto position with rookie linebacker Telvin Smith expected to start at weak-side linebacker. J.T. Thomas will get the start at middle linebacker.
The Jaguars will play the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium Sunday at 1 p.m.
Defensive end Andre Branch (groin) and middle linebacker Jeremiah George (ankle) were declared inactive 90 minutes before kickoff, as were wide receiver Mike Brown, cornerback Teddy Williams, running back Storm Johnson, offensive guard Tyler Shatley and offensive tackle Sam Young.
Hayes' move to the Otto came in the wake of the team releasing Otto linebacker Dekoda Watson during the bye week. George started in the middle against Cincinnati Week 9, and when he returns the Jaguars could return to having George in the middle with Thomas at Otto and Hayes on the weak side.
Right guard Brandon Linder will start at right guard after missing the Jaguars' Week 10 loss to Dallas with a shoulder strain. He practiced all week, and his return gives the Jaguars their entire starting offensive line.
Also, tight end Marcedes Lewis will start for the first time since sustaining a high-ankle sprain Week 2 at Washington. He was activated from the injured reserve-designated to return list this past week.
