JACKSONVILLE – Toby Gerhart's absence is official.

Gerhart, the Jaguars' starting running back in the first five games of the season, on Sunday was officially ruled out for a second consecutive game. Gerhart also missed last week's loss to Tennessee.

Denard Robinson will start at running back for the Jaguars. The second-year veteran has started two games this season, but this will be his first start as the main running back.

Robinson and Storm Johnson started in a dual-back lineup last week.

Also as expected, cornerback Alan Ball and defensive end Andre Branch will be active for the Jaguars' game Sunday against the Cleveland Browns at EverBank Field.

Gerhart, who leads the Jaguars with 123 yards rushing and a touchdown on 48 carries this season, played through ankle/foot issues after sustaining the injury in the first half of a Week 1 loss at Philadelphia. He hasn't practiced since the Wednesday before the Titans game.

Branch, tied for the Jaguars' lead in sacks with three, missed Wednesday's practice with a groin injury, but worked full Thursday and Friday. Ball was limited Wednesday and missed practice Thursday while dealing with ankle/knee issues. He practiced full Friday.

Tight end Clay Harbor also is active for Sunday after being added to the injury report Friday with a knee injury.

Also on Sunday, Demetrius McCray will make a third consecutive start at cornerback and wide receiver Allen Robinson will start at wide receiver.
