JACKSONVILLE – Cloud cover returned, and so did the pads.
The Jaguars on Monday held a two-hour, fifteen-minute practice on Day 14 of 2021 Training Camp, working in full pads in 80-degree temperatures that felt like 88 at the Dream Finders Homes Practice Complex.
The practice came two days after a 23-13 loss to the Cleveland Browns in the 2021 preseason opener, a game held at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville.
Rookie Trevor Lawrence and veteran Gardner Minshew II both worked with the first-team offense Monday, with Lawrence having started against the Browns. Meyer, speaking before practice, said "there's a decent chance" that Lawrence will start again when the Jaguars visit the New Orleans Saints in Preseason Week 2 Monday in New Orleans.
Lawrence, the No. 1 overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft, had another strong practice Monday – completing multiple touchdown passes in a red-zone drill late in practice. Minshew had a strong 11-on-11 drill late in practice with a touchdown pass late in the drill.
The Jaguars not only worked red-zone and 11-on-11 situational work Monday, they also had an early offensive and defensive installation period – as well as a period of seven-on-seven and pass-rushing work.

Lawrence, who continued to look good throughout most of practice, had one of the highlight plays of the day during mid-practice seven-on-seven work. He completed a pass down the season over a defender with perfect timing to wide receiver Pharoh Cooper, who caught the pass for what would have been a long gain and a touchdown. Lawrence also had a 40-yard pass to Cooper in a team drill in the ensuing period. …
