Jacksonville, FL – May 29, 2015 – Zach Szilagyi and Monterious Phillip were "Jaguars for a Day" and part of the team's Organized Team Activity practice on May 26, 2015.
Zach and Monterious were given personalized Jaguars jerseys and then spent time at camp talking with head coach Gus Bradley, watching practice and meeting players. The two young men also spent time exploring EverBank Field, the weight room, the team locker room, and having lunch in Jaguars owner Shad Khan's suite.
"It was wonderful," said Monterious. "I'm a Jaguar fan for life."
Zach, who has Mitochondrial disease and HLH, was admitted to the Community PedsCare program in 2011. Monterious was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy at 16, has been a part of the Community PedsCare program since 2012, and is currently a student at Florida State College at Jacksonville. He will be attending the University of North Florida next year with a full scholarship.
"Our relationship with Community PedsCare is a truly rewarding experience," said Curt Cunkle, EverBank's president of North Florida banking. "Empowering youth is one of our primary initiatives and seeing Zach and Monterious today at EverBank Field made it a mission accomplished."
"This was just way too fun," said Zach. "I want to come here again one day!"
EverBank, Community PedsCare and the Jaguars joined together to create a memory of a lifetime for Zach Szilagyi and Monterious Phillip
