JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The long-standing relationship between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Anheuser-Busch now has another very fresh component. Together they will provide fans at EverBank Field the "Freshest Beer Ever" served at a Jaguars game this season when the Jags host the Miami Dolphins this Sunday, September 20, meaning that all Bud Light draft beer will be "Born On" game day at the local Anheuser-Busch brewery and immediately delivered to the stadium by local distributor North Florida Sales for fans 21 to enjoy.
The idea of creating such an experience came from Jaguars Owner Shad Khan, who made a surprise visit to the local Anheuser-Busch brewery in Jacksonville this past Friday to speak with Senior Brewmaster Bryan Derr and brewery employees. Khan asked the group if they were "Up for Whatever" and issued a challenge to provide fans at EverBank Field for the Jaguars-Dolphins game the "Freshest Beer Ever," with one catch: Derr has to deliver the first Bud Light to fans by jumping off the light tower with Jaguars mascot Jaxson De Ville, who performs the high-wire stunt before the start of every Jaguars home game.
"When Mr. Khan challenged us to bring the freshest beer we can for Jags fans, we were stunned but willingly accepted," said Derr. "Our brewers work every day to brew the best beer possible for Jacksonville and beyond. This weekend, we'll toast to day-fresh beer and a Jaguars victory." Football fans who come to the game against the Dolphins on Sunday will see signage at all beer stands that sell Bud Light draft promoting the "Freshest Beer Ever." Bud Light bottles and other Anheuser-Busch beers will be available to consumers 21 for purchase as well.
"Anheuser-Busch is a cornerstone of our community and a friend of the Jaguars, and of course Jaguars fans," Khan said. "So, in the spirit of partnership, I thought it may be interesting to see if they were truly 'Up For Whatever,' and then visited the brewery to ask them."
