JACKSONVILLE – A special season was capped with a special honor.

Brian Thomas Jr., who emerged this season as perhaps the NFL's best rookie wide receiver, on Thursday was named the league's offensive rookie of the month for December.

Thomas, the No. 23 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, caught 45 passes for 593 yards and five touchdowns in six games in December and January. Thomas and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase were the only receivers with more than 45 receptions, 500 yards and five touchdowns in December and January.

Thomas is the first Jaguars player to win rookie of the month since linebacker Devin Lloyd was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month in September 2022. Running back James Robinson was the last offensive player to receive the honor, receiving it in September 2020.
