The Jaguars signed two players to their roster and waived one, all rookies, this afternoon. Quarterback Todd Boeckman and wide receiver Andy Strickland were added, and wide receiver Jason English was waived.

Boeckman, 25, attended Ohio State where he was a team captain and threw for 31 touchdowns. He played in 27 games, completing 255 of 402 passes (63.4%) for 3,041 yards. The 6-5, 243-pound Boeckman was a full-time starter as a junior in 2007, earning first team All-Big Ten honors after leading the conference in passing efficiency. He started the first three games of his senior season last year before Terrelle Pryor took over as the Buckeyes' starting quarterback. Boeckman, who is from St. Henry, Ohio, received his bachelor's degree from Ohio State in March of last year.

Strickland, 6-0 and 197 pounds, was the leading receiver at Wofford College, where he completed his career with 83 receptions for 1,540 yards (18.6 avg.) and 15 touchdowns. He also scored five rushing touchdowns on 26 rushing attempts. Strickland, 21, is from Gaffney, S.C.

English had signed with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in April following his college career at Tuskegee.
