JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars tripled their 2020 Pro Bowlers Sunday.
As a result, a couple of the team's promising young players will be headed the All-Star game for the first time.
Defensive end Josh Allen and wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. both were named to the Pro Bowl on Sunday evening after originally having been named alternates to the game. The Pro Bowl will be held at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla., on Sunday January 26.
Chark, a second-year veteran who caught 78 passes for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns this past season, replaced Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill on the AFC roster. The Chiefs qualified for the Super Bowl Sunday, so Hill won't play in the Pro Bowl.
Allen, who registered 10.5 sacks, replaced Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark on the AFC roster. Allen became the first rookie in franchise history named to the Pro Bowl.
Chark and Allen became the second and third Jaguars players named to the 2020 Pro Bowl. Veteran defensive end Calais Campbell was named to the game for a third consecutive year and fifth overall.
