JACKSONVILLE – Telvin Smith has been one of the NFL's best at his position for several seasons.
He continues to get increasingly acknowledged as such, with the latest accolade coming when he was named to the NFL Network's list of the NFL's Top 100 players for 2018.
Smith, a fifth-round selection by the Jaguars in the 2014 NFL Draft, was the No. 67 player on the 2017 list. The Nos. 61-70 players were announced Monday night.
Smith, a 4-3 outside linebacker, was No. 83 on the NFL Network's Top 100 for 2016. He was a second-team Associated Press All-Pro selection last season, and made his first Pro Bowl appearance.
Smith in 2017 led the Jaguars with 102 tackles and 76 solos – also a team-high total – and also registered 14 tackles for loss, two quarterback hurries, three interceptions, five passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
