Jaguars running back James Stewart has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his play in the team's 24-23 victory over the Chicago Bears last Sunday.
Stewart rushed for a Jaguars single-game record of 115 yards on 26 carries with one rushing touchdown, and he had three receptions for 22 yards and another score. He also had the most first downs made (10), of any player in Week 1 (seven rushing, three receiving), including a pair of third-and-one conversions.
It is the second time Stewart has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week. In 1997, he received the honor for his play in the team's victory over the Philadelphia Eagles when he scored five touchdowns.
