Jaguars Kick Off 2025 High School Girls Flag Football Season with Annual Events

Jacksonville, Fla. — 2025 Girls Flag Preseason Classic at the Miller Electric Center on February 15, 2025.

Over Presidents Day Weekend, more than 1,600 female high school athletes from throughout Florida participated in the Jaguars Girls Flag Preseason Classic and Girls Flag College Showcase at Miller Electric Center, the Jaguars sports performance facility. For the last three years, these signature events have served as the start of the Florida high school girls flag football season.

Each year, the Girls Flag Preseason Classic, presented by Experience Kissimmee, provides a valuable opportunity to promote the growth of the game and ensure that female athletes have an equal chance to showcase their talents in competitive game play. Nearly 60 Florida-based teams from as far west as Crestview in the Panhandle and as far south as Orlando participated in the three-day event, representing the largest number of participating schools to date and is the second largest preseason tournament of its kind in the nation.

The Girls Flag Preseason Classic was followed by the 2025 Girls Flag College Showcase where Florida and Georgia high school football athletes participate in a pro-style workout in front of college coaches and scouts. This year's installment of the invite-only showcase welcomed a record-breaking 165 elite high school athletes who performed agility, position and 1v1 drill challenges for a chance to be awarded a college scholarship.

"The Jaguars are committed to providing youth and high school athletes the opportunity to showcase their skills and enhance their character through the game of football," said Adriel Rocha, Jaguars vice president of community impact and football development. "Through events like Girls Preseason Classic and College Showcase, we want to develop a pipeline of young athletes while providing core memories they will remember for the rest of their lives."

Participating athlete, Bradford High School junior Arnayshia Griffin, said, "I had an amazing experience at the Jaguars Girls Flag Preseason Classic and felt that it helped our team prepare for the season and get quality reps," "I am definitely looking forward to more events in the future at the Miller Electric Center and excited for this year's flag football season."

The events are coordinated through Jaguars PREP, a youth development initiative of the Jaguars Foundation. The program is committed to growing the game of football throughout Northeast Florida by removing barriers of accessibility, encouraging health and safety, building strong character amongst participants and enhancing opportunities and resources for youth and high school football athletes.

Jaguars Host 2025 Girls Flag Preseason Classic Presented by Experience Kissimmee at Miller Electric Center

What a weekend! Across three days full of ball, the Jaguars hosted their first ever girls tournament at the Miller Electric Center, presented by Experience Kissimmee, right on the grass our players practice. Jaguars players Trevor Lawrence, Foye Oluokun, Christian Braswell, Andre Cisco and even new EVP Tony Boselli and HC Liam Coen all made a special appearance at the tournament to show their support. We are continuing to grow the game. ♥️🏈
