The Jacksonville Jaguars today placed starting safety Gerald Sensabaugh on injured reserve and re-signed safety Jamaal Fudge, who had been waived in final cuts on Sept. 1.
Sensabaugh, 24, injured his shoulder in the Jaguars' 13-7 win over Atlanta last Sunday. The third-year safety had started both games this season and had recorded eight tackles (four solo) and one fumble recovery. The former fifth-round draft pick in 2005 out of North Carolina ends a streak of 34 consecutive games played.
Fudge, 24, played in six games last season after signing with the Jaguars as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Clemson. The 5-9, 184-pound safety recorded five solo tackles and three special teams tackles. The second-year pro is a native of Jacksonville and played at Ed White High School. He will wear jersey No. 23.
