JACKSONVILLE – It ended as it began.

That was fitting, because first selection and the last selection – and most of the selections in between – were very much expectedly on defense.

Jonathan Woodard, a defensive end from the Central Arkansas, on Saturday afternoon became the seventh player selected by the Jaguars in the 2016 NFL Draft. He was the No. 226 selection of the draft, the fifth selection of the seventh round.

Woodard registered 29.5 career sacks at Central Arkansas with 15.5 tackles for loss.

The Jaguars used their first five selections of the 2016 draft on defense.

The Jaguars selected Florida State cornerback Jalen Ramsey with the No. 5 overall selection of the first round on Thursday, then selected UCLA linebacker Myles Jack with the No. 36 selection overall in the second round.

They selected Maryland defensive end Yannick Ngahoue with the No. 69 overall selection in the third round on Friday and Notre Dame defensive tackle Sheldon Day with the No. 103 overall selection in the fourth round.

They selected Montana defensive end Tyrone Holmes with the No. 181 selection in the sixth round then took Arkansas quarterback Brandon Allen with the No. 201 selection in the sixth round.
