The Jacksonville Jaguars today placed linebacker Pat Thomas on injured reserve with hamstring injury and signed rookie linebacker Brian Iwuh from the practice squad. Thomas suffered the injury in the Jaguars' 9-0 win vs. Pittsburgh on Monday night.
Thomas, 23, played in the first two games this season and in eight games as a rookie in 2005. He finished sixth with eight special teams tackles last season after the Jaguars selected him in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL Draft out of North Carolina State.
Iwuh, 22, spent the first two weeks on the Jaguars practice squad after signing as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Colorado on April 30. The 6-0, 235-pound linebacker played in all four preseason games recording eight tackles (six solo) and two special teams tackles.
