Mock Draft Tracker 5.0: Wide Receivers and Offensive Lineman on Top Following Super Bowl LVIII

021224 Mock Draft 5.0

JACKSONVILLE – This was another week for the offense.

This is the fifth jaguars.com 2024 mock draft tracker – and a recent trend of analysts projecting offense for the Jaguars at No. 17 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft continued as the NFL moves on from Sunday's Super Bowl and looks ahead to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis later this month.

The offensive trend for the Jaguars was two-fold, with many analysts projecting offensive line at No. 17 – and with Oregon center Jackson Powers-Johnson emerging as a popular projection there.

"Powers-Johnson's versatility, raw power, and mobility make him a perfect option in Jacksonville; with his mauler mindset, low pad level, and dense frame at 6'3" and 320 pounds, he can instantly improve the Jaguars' offensive line," Owain Jones of Pro Football Network wrote, with Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus writing: "Powers-Johnson is coming off a dominant few days of Senior Bowl practices."

"He's been the Ducks' full-time starting center for just one season, but in Mobile, he showed he can be dominant at both center and guard," Sikkema added.

Alabama offensive tackle J.C. Latham and Oregon State offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga also were projected to the Jaguars, with wide receiver also remaining a popular offensive projection.

The most popular wide receiver projections at No. 17 in the fifth tracker? Brian Thomas of Louisiana State and Keon Coleman of Florida State.

"He's 6-foot-4 and can fly," Fornelli wrote of Thomas. "He may be the most dangerous deep-ball threat in the class. His ceiling will be determined by how much better he gets running everything else."

Hodgkinson wrote: "Maximizing Trevor Lawrence's talents with a wide receiver like Keon Coleman is smart. The former Michigan State and Florida State receiver has the size, speed, sensational body control, and super-sticky hands to be a dangerous downfield option."

Also projected to the Jaguars at No. 17: UCLA Edge Laiatu Latu, Florida State edge Jared Verse, Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold, Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins, Iowa cornerback Cooper DeJean and Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell.

"The biggest issues facing Latu will be if he's cleared medically after a neck injury sidelined his career a few years ago because on the field, he was unstoppable during the 2023 season," Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports wrote, with Lorenzo Reyna of Pro Football Network writing "Wiggins is highly skilled in zone coverage with good eye discipline, making quarterbacks pay if they throw in his direction."
