Jaguars quarterback Byron Leftwich is scheduled to have surgery on his injured left ankle on Tuesday, Nov. 21. Leftwich has missed the team's last three games because of the injury.
"We look forward to getting Byron back on the field, and this is the first step in that process," Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio said. "We will have a better idea of the length of his recovery time after the surgery. I know that Byron will work diligently to get back and rejoin his teammates as soon as possible."
As discussed, upon further evaluation this week Byron has decided, along with the support of the Jaguars medical staff and Dr. James Andrews, to proceed with the surgery now. His status will be updated next week after the surgery.
