JACKSONVILLE – Late February is here. That means it's combine time.
The NFL Scouting Combine – which will be held this week in Indianapolis – is more than scouts, general managers and coaches watching the nation's top college prospects sprint, jump and throw.
It's also, part media free-for-all, part free-agency preview and part NFL convention. All those parts add up to the NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium – the busiest, most-hectic NFL gathering of the 2025 offseason.
jaguars.com and Jaguars Media will be on-site providing you with everything you need to know. Here's a look at what to expect:
The combine officially runs February 24 through March 3, with players participating in position groups and their schedules staggered through the week. A rough look at the schedule:
Day | On-Field Workouts Group | Media Availability Group |
---|---|---|
Wednesday, February 26 | Kickers and Punters | Punters, Kickers, Defensive Lineman and Linebackers |
Thursday, February 27 | Defensive Lineman and Linebackers | Defensive Backs and Tight Ends |
Friday, February 28 | Defensive Backs and Tight Ends | Running Backs, Wide Receivers and Quarterbacks |
Saturday, March 1 | Running Backs, Wide Receivers and Quarterbacks | Offensive Lineman |
Sunday, March 2 | Offensive Lineman | None |
Locally Speaking
- The combine is big for media for several reasons. It's a chance to interview college prospects in a group setting, but it's also a chance to hear from coaches and general managers around the NFL – often for one of the first times since the end of the previous season. For media covering the Jaguars, it will be the second chance to hear from new Head Coach Liam Coen – and the first time since his introductory press conference on January 27. It will also be a chance to hear from newly-hired General Manager James Gladstone.
- Coen is scheduled to speak Tuesday at 11 a.m.
- Gladstone scheduled to speak Tuesday at 11:30 a.m.
- Executive Vice President of Football Operations Tony Boselli is expected to speak to the media Wednesday.
Jaguars.com Coverage
- Jaguars.com combine coverage will begin Tuesday and run through Thursday.
- Tuesday: Head Coach Liam Coen and General Manager James Gladstone will join senior writer John Oehser and senior reporter J.P. Shadrick on Jaguars.com for an exclusive 1-1 interview after their time with the media
- Wednesday: Jags A.M. airs live from the Combine at 10:00 a.m. with John Oehser, J.P. Shadrick and guests. Additionally, Oehser, Shadrick and Jaguars and NFL Media Analyst Bucky Brooks will share latest news and insights on Wednesday's episode of Huddle Up.
- Thursday: Jaguars Happy Hour airs live from the Combine at 4:00 p.m., with EVP of Football Operations Tony Boselli and Pete Prisco of CBS Sports joining J.P. Shadrick.
In addition to the above, Oehser and Shadrick will speak to national media throughout the week, and Oehser will provide written combine coverage.
Free Agency
- The combine technically has nothing to do with free agency, but with the entire NFL world gathered in downtown Indianapolis, the upcoming free-agency period will be a major topic throughout the week. The NFL's free-agency period begins March 12 at 4 p.m., the start of the new league year, with a negotiating period beginning March 10 at noon. The franchise/transition tag window remains open through March 4, and teams can use the tag to limit one of their free agent's ability to negotiate with other teams until then.
