JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Monday, Feb. 3, 2025 – Jacksonville Jaguars team owner Shad Khan announced today that he has appointed former Jaguars All-Pro left tackle Tony Boselli, the franchise's first-ever draft selection in 1995 and member of the 2022 class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, as the team's Executive Vice President of Football Operations.
Boselli will report to Khan, as does new head coach Liam Coen. The team's general manager will also report to Khan once that hire has been made in the weeks ahead.
The new general manager will then join Coen and Boselli to form a football leadership unit that will collaborate and align on all major football decisions, develop a long-term strategy for sustainable on-field success, and provide counsel to the team owner.
"Few people have better relationships throughout the NFL, know the game, and understand the value of strong team identity and culture as well as Tony Boselli," Khan said. "Tony has a wealth of football acumen that we respect and need, and his counsel will be tremendously valuable to me and our football leadership team during this current rebirth and for many seasons to come."
In addition to his role on the football leadership unit, Boselli will be responsible for player engagement, football technology, football travel and logistics, equipment, sports performance, team security and football communications. Boselli will also serve as the liaison between football operations and the business side of the Jaguars to ensure a unified and successful organization as a whole.
"My passion for this team, these fans and this city has defined my football life, to the point it is now engrained in my family's legacy," said Boselli. "Today, that relationship has evolved to include this exciting opportunity, and I find my emotions remarkably similar to what I felt upon being drafted as a Jacksonville Jaguar in 1995. I am so excited and deeply humbled to work with and alongside Shad Khan, the Khan Family, Liam Coen, our new general manager and the entire Jaguars front office. We will come together to build a lasting foundation and winning tradition that Jaguars fans will be proud of."
Boselli was the second overall pick in the 1995 NFL Draft and the first-ever draft selection by the Jaguars. A five-time Pro Bowl selection (1996-2000) and three-time All-Pro (1997-99), he started 90 of 91 career games as well as six playoff games from 1995-2001. Boselli led the way for Jaguars all-time leading rusher RB Fred Taylor to post nearly 3,500 yards and 32 TDs in the four seasons during which he blocked for Taylor. In addition to clearing the way for Taylor, he protected Jaguars all-time leading passer QB Mark Brunell.
During his seven seasons in the NFL, Boselli allowed only 15.5 sacks, and was the first Jaguars player to be inducted into the team's Pride of the Jaguars. His dominance was again recognized when he was selected to the NFL's All-Decade team of the 1990s. Boselli was named No. 1 on the Jaguars All-25 in 2019, a collection of the top 25 non-active players in franchise history, as voted on by members of the local media.
Boselli has been under contract with the Jaguars over many years, serving as a game day radio analyst and frequent contributor to Jaguars.com reporting, in addition to representing the team as an NFL Legends ambassador and throughout the community. Boselli has also served as the lead analyst for Thursday Night Football on Westwood One and worked as an NFL game analyst and sideline reporter for Westwood One, all helping to forge strong relationships throughout the league and game.
Boselli lives in Ponte Vedra, Fla., with his wife, Angi. The couple has five children: Andrew, Adam, Ashli, Alexis and Ansli. Along with Angi, he founded the Boselli Foundation during his rookie year in 1995, an organization helping at-risk youth cultivate high self-esteem and to succeed at home, at school and at play. In 2010, Boselli led the successful Team Teal grassroots effort to strengthen the Jaguars' foundation in Jacksonville, appealing to fans and businesses to purchase season tickets and sponsorships to show the NFL and the world the power of Jacksonville and North Florida as an NFL market.
Boselli earned his business degree from University of Southern California, achieving Academic All-American while he played football. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.
