Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for the fifth time in his career following his franchise-record 59-yard field goal as time expired last Sunday to give the Jaguars a 31-28 win over the Colts.
The 59-yard field goal was the third-longest game-ending field goal in NFL history. It was Scobee's seventh career game-winning field goal including his third against the Colts. He has a franchise-record 13 career field goals of 50-plus yards including two through four games this season. He is five of five on field goals in 2010 with all five coming from 40-plus yards (45, 44, 48, 51, 59).
Scobee was also nominated for the GMC NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT OF THE WEEK which is awarded to the best moment or play of the week that represents determination and perseverance. Fans may vote on NFL.com/gmc through Friday at noon. The winner will be announced Friday during NFL Network's "Around the League" show and then posted on NFL.com
After the regular season, fans will have a chance to determine the GMC NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT OF THE YEAR from among the 17 weekly winners. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/gmc throughout the month of January.
