The Jacksonville Jaguars today waived WR Will Moore and signed
safety JoJuan Armour to the active roster and CB Corey Chamblin
to the practice squad. Armour was claimed off waivers from the
Oakland Raiders.
Moore, a three-year veteran, had been with the Jaguars the last two
seasons, playing in 27 games and making two catches for 19 yards.
He was one of the club's top special teams players, making 18
tackles in 1998.
Armour was a seventh-round draft choice of the Oakland Raiders
this year before being waived on Sunday in the final cuts. The 5-11,
220-pound Armour was a four-year letterman at Miami (Ohio),
where he was Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the
Year in both 1997 and '98. He played in all 44 games during his
career, making 37 starts and finishing with 396 tackles and 25
sacks. Armour, 23, is a native of Toledo, Ohio.
Chamblin becomes the fifth member of the team's practice squad.
He was signed as an undrafted rookie by the Baltimore Ravens and
spent training camp with the team before being waived on Sunday.
Chamblin (5-11, 188), played in 43 games and made 35 starts in four
years at Tennessee Tech. Chamblin, 22, is a native of Birmingham,
Ala.
