Jaguars to Hold Special Celebration at R.L. Brown Elementary School Tomorrow

The Jacksonville Jaguars will hold a special celebration on Wednesday, May 19 at R.L. Brown Elementary School at 1:00 p.m. The event will reward students who participated in the annual Jaguars readers program.

The program was established by Jaguars co-owner Delores Barr Weaver in 1998 and involves approximately 30 Jaguars staff members including coaches spending an hour each week with first grade students for the spring semester. The students read several books to the staff each week. R.L. Brown is the seventh different school the program has worked with.

Students will be rewarded for their participation with a gift bag, refreshments, cupcakes provided by Winn-Dixie and a visit from players and ROAR members. The following players are scheduled to attend the event: Tyson Alualu, Mike Sims-Walker, D'Anthony Smith and Don Carey.
