Jaguars to Hold Several Special Events at 2010 Training Camp Including "Salute the Troops Night"

"Salute the Troops Night" on August 5 at the Florida Blue Health & Wellness Practice Fields will highlight several activities planned for the Jaguars 2010 training camp. Training camp is scheduled to begin on Friday, July 30 when the team hits the practice fields for the first time at 10:45 a.m. The first 14 training camp practice sessions will be open to the public for viewing over the first seven days, through Thursday, August 5. There is no admission charge for training camp, and parking will be available in the parking lots surrounding EverBank Field.

The club will recognize all military personnel and their families beginning at 6:15 p.m. on August 5 on the fields adjacent to Gate 2 at EverBank Field. As part of the salute, the Albany Marine Band will perform prior to practice and many of the local Servicemen and Women of the Year will be recognized for their dedication to our country. HSL-60, a NS Mayport-based squadron, will conclude the ceremony with a single SH-60 Seahawk flyover. Chick-fil-A will offer complimentary chicken sandwiches to anyone who presents a military ID.

Gates open at 6:15 p.m. for each evening practice. Other events planned for the evening practices include:

Friday, July 30 – Training camp kickoff

• ROAR and D-Line performances

• Inflatable Games

• Football Fanatics will be distributing 500 "Growl Towels" to fans in attendance.

Saturday, July 31 – Florida Blue Family Day

• Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida will host a family day from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The event will feature health screenings, nutritional counseling, special giveaways and interactive games for fans. To pick up a VIP ticket for the event, which includes a free smoothie and special seating, fans must stop by the Florida Blue store in the St. John's Town Center to receive a ticket.

• Several former Jaguars will be in attendance from 6:15-6:45 p.m. to sign autographs and answer questions from fans.

• Military static displays outside Florida Blue Health & Wellness Practice Fields

• Albany Marine Band performance

• Servicemen & Women of the Year recognition

• Chick-fil-A to offer a free chicken sandwich to anyone with a military ID

Blood Alliance to host Blood Drives

The Blood Alliance will hold blood drives outside Florida Blue Health & Wellness Practice Fields on Saturday, July 31 (7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.), Monday, August 2 (4:00-9:00 p.m.), Wednesday, August 4 (4:00-9:00 p.m.) and Friday, August 6 (4:00-8:00 p.m.). The first 50 people to donate on Saturday and the first 30 people to donate the other three days will receive preseason tickets to Jaguars home games when they use the automated red cell collection system.
