Jaguars Sign Linebacker Slade Norris to Active Roster; Place Linebacker Jacob Cutrera on Injured Res

The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed second-year linebacker Slade Norris to the active roster from the practice squad and placed rookie linebacker Jacob Cutrera on injured reserve because of a concussion.

Norris, 6-2, 232, was a fourth-round draft pick of the Oakland Raiders in 2009 and played in four games as a rookie.  He spent time on the Raiders practice squad and 53-man roster before he was placed on injured reserve on Dec. 30 with a hamstring injury.  He spent the first two weeks of the 2010 season on the Raiders practice squad before he was signed to the Jaguars practice squad on Nov. 10.

A native of Portland, Oregon, he was a three-year letterman at Oregon State where he played safety, linebacker and defensive end.  He registered 19 sacks and 82 tackles during his collegiate career.

Norris will wear number 53.
