JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed seventh-year LB Damien Wilson, the club announced today.
Wilson, 6-0, 243, has spent the last two seasons (2019-20) with Kansas City after playing his first four seasons (2015-18) with Dallas, where he was selected in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. His career totals include 93 games played (51 starts), 249 tackles, 4.0 sacks and three forced fumbles. In 2020, Wilson recorded 70 tackles in 13 games (all starts) with the Chiefs. Wilson started all 16 games for the first time in his career in 2019 and totaled a career-high 81 tackles (52 solo) and one forced fumble. He recorded 19 tackles in three postseason games in 2019, including four tackles in the Chiefs victory in Super Bowl LIV.
Wilson attended the University of Minnesota from 2013-14 after beginning his college career at Alcorn State. In 26 games (24 starts) for the Gophers, he posted 197 tackles and 5.0 sacks, including a team-leading 119 tackles as a senior. In 2014, Wilson led Minnesota in tackles (119), tackles for loss (4.5) and sacks (4.0) en route to First Team All Big-Ten honors.
Wilson is originally from Gloster, Miss. and attended Amite County High School in Liberty, Miss.
