The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed safety Erik Olson to a contract. Olson was selected by the Jaguars in the seventh round round of the April 15-16 draft and was the 236th pick overall. Length and terms of the contract are not disclosed.
Olson, 23, started 42 of 43 games played in four seasons at Colorado State. The 6-1, 215-pound Olson ranks 10th in school history with 312 career tackles and is tied for ninth on the school's career list with 11 career interceptions.
With the signing of Olson, the Jaguars now have signed six of 11 draft choices and have 76 players under contract. Still to be signed are five draft choices and defensive end Tony Brackens, who was designated as a franchise player.
