The Jacksonville Jaguars signed fourth-year defensive tackle Montavious Stanley to a contract, the club announced today. Stanley was scheduled to become a restricted free agent. Length and terms of the contract are undisclosed.
Stanley, 6-2, 302, played in a career-high 15 games for the Jaguars in 2009 and finished with 24 tackles, one sack, three passes defensed and one tackle for loss. He had his lone sack of the season on September 27 at Houston in week three.
Stanley has played in 33 career games with six starts, spending time with Dallas, St. Louis, Atlanta, New Orleans and the Jaguars. His career totals include 63 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. He was originally a sixth-round pick of the Cowboys in 2006 after playing four seasons at Louisville. He spent time with the Saints in 2008 and was signed by the Jaguars as a free agent on July 23, 2009.
