The Jacksonville Jaguars have re-signed fourth-year OL Patrick Omameh, the club announced today.
Omameh, 6-4, 327, has appeared in 41 career games with 33 starts since originally being signed by San Francisco as an undrafted free agent on May 7, 2013. After joining the 49ers' practice squad, Omameh was signed to Tampa Bay's active roster on Oct. 11, 2013, but remained inactive for all 16 games as a rookie in 2013. However, Omameh won the Buccaneers' competition at LG and started all 16 games in 2014. After spending the 2015 offseason with Tampa Bay, Omameh was released on Sept. 4, 2015, but was claimed off waivers two days later by Chicago. Omameh appeared in 14 games at RG for the Bears, making nine starts. After becoming a free agent, Omameh was signed by Jacksonville on June 2, 2016, and appeared in 10 games for the Jaguars last season, making seven consecutive starts from Oct. 2 vs. Indianapolis (London) to Nov. 20 at Detroit.
Omameh, 27, started 41 of 45 career games at the University of Michigan (2008-12), including every game during his final three seasons. Omameh was a first-team All-Big Ten selection as a senior. A native of Columbus, Ohio, Omameh attended St. Francis De Sales High School and earned first-team All-State honors as a senior.
