JAGUARS PLACE McMANUS I.R., WAIVE SOUTHWARD FROM PRACTICE SQUAD, SIGN STREATER

The Jacksonville Jaguars today placed MLB Tom McManus on

injured reserve. The Jaguars also made two practice squad moves,

waiving LB Brandon Southward and signing DE Rahmaan Streater.

McManus suffered a foot injury on September 19 at Carolina. He is

a five-year veteran and one of only 13 Jaguars who have been with

the team since its inception. He had won the starting middle

linebacker job in the preseason for the first time. He finishes the

year with nine tackles (five solo) and one pass defensed.

Southward spent the first three weeks of the season on the Jaguars'

practice squad after being waived on August 31. He had been

signed as a rookie free agent out of the University of Colorado on

June 1.

Streater was waived by the Washington Redskins on September 5

in the final cuts. He spent the entire 1998 season on Washington's

practice squad after being converted from tight end, where he

played at the University of Richmond. The 24-year-old Streater

(6-5, 263) is a native of Alexandria, Va.
